A Court of Thorns and Roses - Sarah J. MAAS [SPOILERS]

A Court of Thorns and Roses
Sarah J. MAAS
Bloomsbury
432 pages
Paperback

Plot
Feyre's survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill – the forest where she lives is a cold, bleak place in the long winter months. So when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price ... Dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre's presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turn from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become an even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will lose him forever.

Just one word: FANTASTIC !!!!!

Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale of all times and I've read many rewrites of it but I have to admit, none ever been so close to be as good as the original and being so different at the same time.

We find in this book everything we can possibly want in a book: action, mystery, romance, and all of that well-balanced. Perfect.

I loved how the roles were kinda reversed here, the true beast not being who we thought.
I also loved the dynamic between Feyre -who hates faeries- and her captor -a faerie Lord-, how she fights against her emerging feelings.

And then you have the curse. That part doesn't change, except that not only she would save him by breaking the curse, but also the Faerie world and by extension the Human world as well.

In sum, this book could please romantic girls as much as action boys (and the other way around ;) )

Good news is, this book is the first of a trilogy,
Bad news, we'll have to wait another 5 months before being able to read book two ^^
